How do I know if a PDF document is a searchable PDF

1. Open the pdf document. You should be in Adobe reader.
 
2. On the top in the tool bar menu there is a field that you can enter words. Enter one of the big words in the documents, (not a, an or the).
 
If adobe highlights the word in the document then it is a searchable pdf.
